I have a 92 and the upper weld on my door hinge is starting to separate from the chincy body. Does anybody have a good cheap fix besides going doorless all the time? I already have it to where I can remove my doors easily but I REALLY need to fix this issue before I open my door one day and it falls to the ground!

I think I remember that there was some kind of kit from the stealership. But if not, I would weld an 1/8" plate behind it and weld to that.

there is a kit but it requires a special tool that ONLY the ddealership has to apply this bracket and whats worse is the recall only includes vehicles up to 91 and mine is a 92

get on power block.com and on truck they did a xj and they cut everything off and welded new steel in to make it stronger, i had this happen on my 94 i just welded the crap out of it. it looked like crap but it held good you can always to that.

is there a way to put a plate on the BACK side of the frame and running some bolts and nuts through it and cinching it together?

That sure seems like the solution if yours has not seperated too much. That Marcus (Go-Jeep) is a great welder too.

Mine is separated too far plus to find a welder that can weld that clean and smal yet be effective

It is still fixable, but will take more work. You will have to remove the fender and start reinforcing the area behind the hinge. It is too bad you are not local. We could declare a wrench party.
