i let the kiddies do some scratching for extra texture and maybe some anger management

here is a pic of my wife diving right in on the project were using the Rust-olium brand that you can pick up at most auto part stores for about fifty bux not bad considering it didnt even take a gallon for the first coat but keep in mind i didn't do the top, i decided to go with a thinner flat black for the bumpers and roof

one of the concerns with using truck bed liners for paint is weight added to the jeep but think of it this way...can your truck carry two gallons of paint without dogging down(mine can)

Love the part where the kids are scratching it. I'd like to see a picture close up, like on that side door where they were doing the scratching.

Do you have any problems cliping things with that brush guard?

Yeah I think the bed liner is a great idea. DETOURS told me about the stuff they sell at Wal-Mart, spray and by the gallon, for my bumpers they made for me. Tough and easy to touch up. I like the texture and the rubbery feel.

well like i said in another post, i don't want my xj to look like everyone else's driving down the road, but i assure you it doesn't stick out past the tires, for whatever reason it just looks much larger in pics lol:smiley-laughing021:

Did you sand it down before applying that bedliner or just left it scratched up?

That looks good.

also i'm gonna be adding a second coat but its fine with one coat point being with tape, liner and flat black it only cost 65 bux or so for a good looking paint job and took us about 2 and a half hours to tape and paint

Wow nice paint. Not so sure about that huge cattle guard of a front bumper. It's HUGE.

sorry i havent been around much work has been crazy,as i said before i don't like looking like the rest of the xj's on the road but to hopefully settle your feelings about my beast i have other plans such as doing wedge cuts and turning the side gaurds in towards the headlights for added protection the rewelding them and possibly some metal netting for more headlight protection woot, also stated before it just looks horrible in photo's for some reason in person its more like a savage zombie hunting rig hehe i'm lookking for a cheep roof rack before summer but things are a little on hold due to were moving to the country and saying goodbye to this crappy city yay anyways i hope i cleared up some of my sanity thats in question

Wow I need to pick some up. The guy I got the Jeep from used Hot Rods Satin Black and charges 1500! After one trip I have scratch marks from the front to back, like a limb was just grinding all the way down it lol

Looks good... Rustoleum now has a tan spray on bed liner. Though I'm not a huge fan of the rustoleum bed liner, I like the duplicolor spray on bedliner better. But the wally world doesnt' carry it any more.
