I am working on putting things back together on the XJ, so I can trouble shoot the driving issues. I sat down to assemble the steering wheel, no problems. But putting the horn assembly back together is like putting a puzzle together with the side effects of the game "Operation". When you assemble it the wrong way, your horn goes off and you crap your pants.

Anyone have a break down (Exploded view) of the horn assembly for a 1989 style steering wheel (no air bags). Preferably color, maybe I'm missing a part.

I have it in my FSM but no way to get it to you. My All in One printer scanner died before x-mas and I have not yet replaced it.

Actually figured it out. Found my Wonton tub with my spare parts from the Steering Column swap, and noticed a plastic ring I wasn't using. Installed it, and it went together perfectly. Awesome!

Glad you found the missing ring. Is there a writeup in our future?

This thread was done by one of our less active members, Abovetimberline. We were trying to get it over here also, but were unsuccessful. Rich wanted to put all of them here, but was having trouble doing it. He will be coming out here in the future to work on his suspension in my shop. At that time we will do an in depth write up on bastard packs and driveline set up. Maybe we can take care of it then.

sounds cool. I can move his stuff from there to here if he wants. It'll take a little time but it's doable.

He has several write ups there he would like to move. It is just a matter of copying and pasting. We had a problem accessing the edit function due to the time lapse.
