I'm going to be under my XJ replacing some warn bushings next weekend and I was thinking about replacing my o2 sensors. I'm at about 130,000 miles and I don't think they have ever been changed. Should I get stock replacement o2 sensors or is there a better aftermarket brand? There are two o2 sensors correct?

Get Bosch if you can. They seem to be the best made of the ones I have used in the past. Stay away from Eichlin (sp) as they can't tolerate much carbon before throwing codes.

I wish I had an accurate measument of my mpg before changing mine. I would recommend doing that before changing. Right now I don't know if the O2 sensors I have now improved or degraded the mpg. Just a thought.

Mudderoy: how many o2 sensors do you have? I've been told there are 2 and there are 4.

I have 2, your year model may have 4.

2 is what I read from other forums for a 2000.

Should be two. One on the drives side exhaust mantifold, and one near the cat. (If you still have one)
