I have a 1998 Classic with 4.0 and AW4 auto. 3 days ago the check engine light came on. Took it to Autozone this morning and they read the code P1493. The clerk told me that means an air leak somewhere. Anyone got any ideas where to look?

Thanks

Yeah it looks like the air leak is for an Infinity, not a Jeep. I saw this "Ambient/Batt Temp Sen Volts Too Low"

Thanks guys. I will pull the battery and clean the sensor. Hope that works.

Let us know if that fixes it, or not. I read a lot of messages where people post up about a problem and then never post the resolution. I hate cliff hangers. :rotfl2:

Yeah that is another reason to own a Renix era Jeep. Fewer sensors to screw up and can be diagnosed with a $4 multimeter.

Pulled the battery, cleaned the tray, disconnected the sensor. It seems the prior owner pinched the wires. So I taped them up, sprayed the connector with WD-40, reassembled and no more 'check engine' light.

That was easy. Thanks for the check back!
