Dear All,

last night, headlight low-beam was on, when switching lever for left turn:
left; right turn light and high beam light on dash goes on (no flash)
no turn light flashes and low beam switched off. turn lever back in middle; left; middle position, no effect. then turn switch to right; right turn lights flash and everything works normal.
it happens several times; sometimes normal; sometimes strange...

looks like an idiot - flash right turn lights and actually turns left ?

someone had a similar issue and how to fix it?

Sorry to be so late in answering but just saw this. The switch is bad and needs to be replaced. The switch is under the steering wheel and horn apparatus, requiring the column to be disassembled to get to it. Switch is not cheap and I would not recommend replacing it with a used one either. If you don't have a FSM then it will be difficult to remember everything and how it all comes apart and goes back together.

Last April I did hazard switch lever (push pull lever located bottom right of steering wheel) using sheet metal. Will disassemble again when receive new switch. :((

after 4 months, last night had a big problem with my lights when I tried to change high beam. All three indicators mentioned above ON and headlight goes OFF.
- only parking lights lit when switch is PARK (1st position) and ON (full pull)
- on PARK: when activate turn signals, only rear flashes; no response in front
- on PARK: when activate hazard flasher, both rear flashes, nothing in front.
- on ON: no turn signal; no hazard flasher at all

1. disassembled steering wheel; found broken spring piece between windshield washer wires, near to end of lever. Switch has 2 springs, one broken. No other faults found.
2. checked headlight switch, Tan/Black wire connected to middle connector (H) loose and plastic melted.
3. checked connectors. After all I found corroded contacts. Location of connector is just below the SBEC. Cleaned contacts, everything back alive.

Great pictures. We can tell exactly what you are talking about now. I wonder if some dielectric grease would help keep it looking that way?

it is PCM (Powertrain Control Module) = SBEC (Single Board Engine Controller)

Od I had the same problem after I took a cutting torch to the inside of fenders on my truck and after the first side I saw my carpet on fire inside after I put it out I saw the insulation dripping and my lights did the same thing. I was 16 then and I did pull the carpet back on other side first. Duh.
Get cheap dielectric grease in sprinkler section of hardwear store if you have one there. It's used on wire nuts of solenoid valve. And check out your speedo 200?, that was nasty in there nice clean up.
