so i have a chance to pick up a 95 on 35s and locked in the rear for $500.
the guy wanted $2500 for it so i emailed him but he never wrote back so i finely called him and he was like well i don't know if you want it anymore. so i was like ok why? he then said well i was driving it and the tranny went out so if you still want it i will give it to you for $500. so i called i guy i know that has xj parts coming out of where he poops and he had a tranny out of a 2000 that he said he could give me for $150

so my question is can i put a aw4 out of a 2000 in a 95 with out any problems or will i need a adapter or somthing?

i talked to him yesterday and he said that he took it to the shop and they didn't tell him anything of why it went out so i'm not sure.:driving:

If you call a salvage yard (junk yard) they can tell you. If you buy it, I would try changing the TPS before changing the trans. When I bought mine, it wouldn't shift, and this fixed it.

I have only seen 1 bad AW4 in 20 years and it had 280.000 miles on it when the owner flopped it onto a huge rock and cracked the case. So with that said I think it is a bad TPS or something else. Have a look at the fluid. If it is red and doesn't smell burnt then it is probably OK and it is not the tranny's fault.
