Well took the wife and our oldest daughter out to play in the mud. I let the wife play for a bit and then i did. Saw this big puddle and needless to say my interior got flooded out and i ended up having to be towed out of it. I got the jeep running. My intake got water in it and now my fuel pump isnt getting power. The puddle was over 33 inches deep. My back tires were under water.

I finally got the fuel pump to work and i have spark and it will start now but idles like crap.

I have changed MAP, ECU, TPS, DISTRIBUTOR, WIRING HARNESS, FUEL PUMP, IAC, O2 SENSOR, CAM POS SENSOR, CRANK POS SENSOR, COMPRESSION IS AROUND 145 ON ALL 6 CYLINDERS.

And it still sounds like this

If you bent a rod, wouldn't that change the compression?

Vacuum line is off somewhere or has water in it. JMHO

Would water make it idle fine then stumble? What is the easiest way to find where the water is? I have taken all spark plugs out and checked the oil. Oil is fine.

what year is this jeep again? if it has the vacuum disc front axle one of the tubes could of come off and you could of got water in it. i know when i did my axle swap i had to plug the hard lines that go to the front vacuum if you don't then the jeep will run like shit.

Ok So on the hard line for the axle i had some water in there. Also the line that goes from the tcase up to the passenger side had come off and was hanging there. I have taken all the lines off and blew them out including the hard lines. Still doing it though. Also does anyone have a vacume diagram for the axle vacume lines?

I have a complete harness you can have that only goes on one way. Or I can give you the colors and position for them.

If i put the distributor in wrong would it make it surge like it does?

A cracked intake manifold could. You can check it with the WD40 trick. Just spray it on the manifold and around the throttle body. You will get a change in rpm and it will eventually evaporate off. I used starting fluid to do this one time and had a nice little fire.

Well, after bragging that I had an intact harness, I seem to only have half of it, not the half you need. But while you are at it, why don't you just take that disconnect and block internally in the locked position. I am in the process of doing that now myself.

If you want to check for vacuum leaks instead of using WD40 or starting fluid, you can use a propane torch, not lit. If it has a leak, it will rev the engine up a little, and if it does backfire and the torch lights, just shut off the torch,no fuel for a fire. Check it the same way as with WD40.

ok thanks. im gonna check my intake manifold. I blocked off the main vacume line that goes to the passenger side hoping maybe it would work. so the only vacume lines i have now are the intake ones, egr, and the vent ones from the valve cover to the intake manifold.

Hey anyone interested in a two door shell? I got it for doing a wiring job. I am thinking of building a trailer with it but it has a clean title, so i figured if someone wants to trade a salvaged one or a partially wrecked one then by all means. just swap me shells. (im also starting to rebuild all my spare stuff now). I also have almost all the plastics for the two doors.
