Pretty much any r16 tire will fit on your 16'' rims.

If you mean spare tire and wheel then it might fit your Jeep depending on the model. If it came from a ZJ (93-98 Grand Cherokee) then it will fit. If it came from 99+ Grand Cherokee, then it will not fit. 99+ have a different bolt pattern (5x5'') than the XJ and ZJ (5x4.5'')

Hope this answers your question.

I ran 245/75r16 tires on my XJs.... rubs just a smidge.

If the rim is off a 99+ the rim will not fit

The rim has a 5X5 bolt pattern. Yours is 5X4.5

ok, thanks
How do I know if the bolt pattern is correct. Measure? Is it stamped on rim?

The first number is the number of holes, the second number is the diameter of the circle (through center point of studs).

For example, a 5x4.5'' bolt pattern has 5 holes arranged in a circle with a diameter of 4.5''.

Not sure about stamping or not, but measuring should be able to get you close enough to tell the difference between 5x4.5'' and 5x5'' but it will be pretty hard to tell the difference between say a 5x4.5'' and a 5x115mm since 4.5''=114.3mm

For a 5 lug wheel the bolt pattern is measure from the outside edge of one stud/hole to the middle of one across from it.

Thanks for all that. Who would have thought finding a good spare for cheap is this hard.

Can I put a 2014 Jeep Cherokee tire 5 spoke on my 2001 jeep cherokee?

No, in 1999 the Grand Cherokee went with the 5x5 bolt pattern. The xj stayed 5x4.5 till they quit making it in 2001

Trailmaster steels then throw on a cheap used tire.

I got a rim off an xj in the junkyard then went and bought a used tire. it was pretty easy. just have to get to the xj in the yard fast! they tend to get eaten up pretty quick in the u-pull its. I just saw an xj at the yard that was lifted and had new coil springs on the front. they were still shiny silver! thinking of going and grabbing them as I will be lifting mine 3 inches. I just don't know if they will fit. might just grab em, slap em on and hope they fit!

All the jeeps at the local junk yards are picked clean within days.
