Bumper builds ( Lets see your custom bumpers !)

Wanting to build front and rear bumpers and would like to see what you have ! I'm debating whether to have a winch or no winch and LED pods built in or not. Would like to mount a cb whip to rear bumper though . Would like to keep them somewhat light in weight as reasonably possible . Have also looked at some of the DIY kits online.

If you are going to have a winch, you will need to decide if you want it mounted at the bottom of frame level or top of frame level. Quite a difference on approach angle

I'm not planning to do anything extreme in this Jeep. It is something I have to be able to drive to and from work and my hunting camp in 2 hours one way from home on our family farm. I would like to wheel it just nothing extreme. We have been stranded retrieving deer before and had to walk 3-4 miles to get a tractor, it would be nice to have a winch to get out without walking :)

I will swear by the Dirtbound Offroad DIY kits. I picked one up at a jeep show last year, and Brent (Choogala) and i made a stinger for it, and i welded it together and had it polyurea coated at work.

It is better to have a winch especially if you are going off the road.

It’s not exactly “building” from scratch, because I don’t have the time but I put on together from different prefabbed parts.
