I need some advice. I am not very artsy fartsy, so I am unsure how to proceed here. I am building my axles and will paint the calipers red. However, the calipers are not like the stock XJ calipers, they are in two pieces.

Complete caliper

Sio the question is, should I paint the whole thing red or just the caliper and paint the bracket black?

Same^ Think of it as the setting for a jewel. The jewel is the focal point.

There isn't going to be much to see through the wheel, generally speaking. Red will be seen, black won't be. I'd paint both red if the point is to be able to see it.

And this is where it starts, first he gets parts off a red jeep, then he starts painting other bits and pieces red. Calipers first then maybee a cup holder pretty soon home made bumpers and roof racks. Then the next thing you know the whole jeep is red. Blue jeep member traitor. If you feel the need to leave the blue jeep club at least go green. Heck if you need i have some spare green paint i will donate. Gee wiz Dad i would never thought you would go to the red side.

Those will look nice.. Yeah not sure you could find one of the ones I shared wide enough or even big enough rim size for any MT tires anyways..

I vote all red. Or maybe with a blue Jeep, you paint the caliper red and the bracket yellow for a Superman theme!

I thought about having my XJ bedlined in Hemi Orange (still am actually):rolleye0012::smiley-scared003:.... Maybe I should get my truck done in Plum Crazy... It is after all a Mopar... and it has a Hemi in it!! LOL

For which one??!! LOL... The Jeep I am thinking about.... due to the paint being pretty much jacked... The truck on the other hand... now that I got the road paint off the body panels, only got it left in the fenders and on the exhaust tip... I'm not worried about the truck, as I want to keep it clean and able to get as much money out of it for either sell or trade in value (when I finally am able to get back on my feet, and can trade it in on the 2500+ CTD Ram I've been wanting for many years...)

Well it's funny... Cause I had been thinking about having it painted orange, such as the Metallic Rust that the 04/05 Rubicons had... But after doing all my trim in black, and having a few orange accents I thought it might be too much... But after watching Diesel Brothers this past week, where they built a Ram 2500, and wrapped it in Orange, and it had black trim and orange accent pieces (D-rings, winch fairlead, and a few other parts)... and I thought it actually looked pretty darn good... so got me back to think about doing orange on mine... Got a local guy who will do the outside of the Jeep in Raptorliner in black or any color he can mix up in his body shop... and it is a really reasonable price... so figure I'm going to take care of a few holes in the rear quarter panel, from removing the factory 97+ lower 1/4 panel trim when I did the bumper install.... and once I do that and make sure the rust has been taken care of in the lower 1/4... I'm going to remove all the armor, have him do all the armor in black bedliner, and do the Jeep in whatever color... right now I'm really thinking about sticking with white, going to a graphite gray, or doing orange... **really considering orange again** as it was a color I thought about painting my last XJ too..

Just to tease you a little, there is a Ford burnt orange color that looks really good with white. It was a pickup color. Painted my Bronco that color. Nice looking, didn't show red dust or mud and unique for a Bronco
