Those are some nice looking engine parts you got there.. What pistons/rods you running?? and what displacement are you looking to run in the end (are you making it a stroker build or just back to 4.0??

Just back to 4.0... im not sure what the pistons are.. but I will chack today... they were a xmas gift. As for the rods im re-using the the stock ones from the motor we tore down... 4.0 cherokee Loredo. Displacement is not something I have looked into yet, Im not even 100 percent what it is... how much power to the wheels/individual wheels, gear ratio? I was probably going to ask you guys here at tje forums for suggestions. I was looking at some stroker kits but I was trying to use the new cam and pistons I already have... any good suggestions on where to look? (Original plan was back to 4.0, but I still have time to change my mind.)

I want these fenders... anyone know where to find stuff like this? Other than on the race coarse... All I keep finding are fender flares... I'm looking for a more rugged look...

Rusty's offroad makes a set... I would say stay away from them unless you want to spend quite a bit of time fitting them and making them work... Good companies wise there are a few options.. Hannemann Fiberglass (http://www.hannemannfiberglass.com/custom.asp?id=457567&page=107), Glassworks Unlimited (http://glassworksunlimited.com/products/jeep-mazda/cherokee/1984-1996-jeep-cherokeecomanche-front-fenders-4-5-flare-3-rise) (they only make front sets), there are probably some more companies... those are just the ones that I know of, from when I was looking up those style fenders.. If you want to find more, just search for Jeepspeed fiberglass fenders..

you'd have to use stroker rods and crank to get more displacement. may want a different cam profile as well. so you'd have to start over on parts...

Yea I am not sure because the knowledge for me isn't there... but I don't think I am doing anything to the displacement... all I really know is I don't want to start over on parts... just gonna put it together and see what we get I guess... (as I typed that last part I hated myself...) :bang:

you could put higher ratio rocker arms for change your int/exh profile!

Well what I have so far is and upgraded cam from Howards Cams, the new 68mm throttle body, the new pacesetter header, and I am planning on having an all new exhaust system made, an accel high output tune up kit with new plugs wires and distributer cap, I am gonna do a fuel injector upgrade to either a 4 port injector or if I can find a set of 6 port injectors, I didn't even think about new rocker arms... Ile look those up any recommendations? How do I know what ratio I had before? :drinking::xj-green:

should be 1.6

So what would be the improvement 1.5 or 1.7? ... also do you know anything about roller rocker arms? 505 performance has a set but its like 400 dollars... just looking for more info if its out there. Thanks again.

Talking to a few folks online when I was researching (still am actually) my budget stroker build up... They all recommended Harland Sharp roller rockers (https://www.summitracing.com/parts/csp-s4096?seid=srese1&cm_mmc=pla-google-_-shopping-_-srese1-_-harland-sharp&gclid=CjwKEAjwkq7GBRDun9iu2JjyhmsSJADHCD_HEbrHvAKj DML4xIQHrxWOR7sNS5Q8uSc_dOTRKjH3FhoC75Tw_wcB) which run almost $400

you want bigger ratio rockers if you're going to mess with it. the effect is the same as running a bigger cam. let's look at the intake side of things

stock 4.0 cam intake lobe is just over .4" - with 1.6 ratio rockers give you .64" of valve lift.
same cam, same int lobe with 1.7 ratio rocker (.4*1.7) give you .68" of valve lift. doesn't change the cam profile just flows slightly better. the stock 4.0 cam is a fairly good one out of the box, so the performance (bigger duration, bigger lift) cams aren't really necessary as the stock cam's duration is already pretty good. rockers let you change the lift profile without all the effort of a cam swap.

stock valve springs are good to .5" cam lift (valve lift .8" on 1.6 rockers) so you're good there. its a way to get better performance without changing cams.

roller rockers are a way to eliminate internal parasitic drag on an engine. use them if you want, but get ready to spend some $$$
