Hi Folks

Ben off line for a couple of days. I developed severe abdominal pains
Monday afternoon and went to the hospital. They said I had
appendicitis and needed surgery, so to the operating room I went.
Just missed my anesthesiologist friend from church. Probably a good
thing. I guess I get the award for the hardest airway of the year to
establish. It took all the operating room staff and one ER doctor to
get my jaw stretched out enough and contorted right to get a tube in
me. Surgery went well, accept it took longer due to adhesions, like
scar tissue. I don't know why, never been injured there. I
apparently stopped breathing on my own during surgery so I woke up in
intensive care, tubes in my mouth still and restrained. They were
nice enough to remove them before I bent something. One of the
doctors came into ICU while the pulmonologist was there and said.
"New machines. How do you work them?" So he started showing him the
set up and custom stuff on it with comments like "you can do this...
the patient didn't like that." They were kind enough to quit that
after the second time.

Well I am back home now and in good shape. The nurses were kind, had
some visitors, talked up the healthy lifestyles to one of the staff, had a
nice chat with the anesthesiologist and the pulmonologist, after he
pulled the tubes, and glad to be home.

glad to hear you are home and ok! the same thing happened to me 2 years ago. actually it will be 2 years in 5 days. dec 7th of 07. i had same symptoms also. i woke up in severe abdominal pain and i had lived home at the time and my mom passed it off as the stomach bug going around at that time. by the morning i couldnt even walk so she took my to the doctors who told her to rush me to the hospital where they had to rush me into emergency surgery cause mine was about to burst so i feel your pain but you seem to be doing better then i did in post op. my incision got infected but ill spare the details. just wear sweatpants for awhile and take it easy and you will be alright and hey the way i looked at mine is now its one less body part to worry about:smiley-laughing021:!

I had this happen last Feb. Only not as severe. I had to miss a meeting that weekend. I am going to the same type of meeting tomorrow. You suppose there is a pattern here?

Well Steve, I have to ask. Did you see a bright light? Was your underwear on backwards when you woke up? Wait that's UFO abduction. Nevermind.

Wow what a Thanksgiving. I'm glad you came through ok. I know what you mean about bending something. I would not like to be restrained.

Fat Elvis or Skinny Elvis?

You see eating turkey is harmful, that is why Ben Franklin wanted them declared the national symbol instead of the eagle. That way they would be protected and not eaten.

I'm innocent. I don't eat the poor things.

Rightly said. Many current entertainers in the music owe their careers to his free help.
