I think you've been around the wrong people, if that is what you expect.

Oh, I'm a real go getter, hands on, willing to try, but then someone had better follow around behind me and fix all the crap I've just messed up, or did wrong :headbag:

I got a set but they are a different manufacturer and did not go that quickly. Guess it was the TNT frame stiffeners that got in the way.

So you guys aren't interested in frame stiffiners? I like the idea of having my sliders tied into a big hunk of metal that is bolted and welded to the unibody.

Bolting sliders in two places to the unibody seems like a much weaker connection. Hmmm I guess that is good enough for the rear bumper, but still.

BTW, those look great, and they look like they will double great as a step to get in and out.

I have no plans of dropping off the side of a mountain any time soon. The more armor you add the heavier you get, the less mileage and performance you get. then their that money thing. I don't own a welder.:coffee:

Those rock rails on that green paint, I've seen this somewhere else before..................... I can't really place where I've seen it before.

Mudd, you can easily weld your sliders to the frame rails. I have AJ's Heavy Duty sliders, and I welded them to the frame rails and pinch seams. I welded all around the plates that are supposed to bolt to the frame rail, and I welded pretty much straight down the pinch seam. I used a piece of flat stock as a spacer because the pinch seam is too thin to weld to just that.

Actually I was thinking about this also. I was wondering if that was a good Idea.

The bad thing about doing that is that they're not removable (at least easily removable). The reason I like it is because it's harder to break a weld then to break a self tapping bolt, and those bolts don't always hold as tight as you'd like either. The other plus is that you're reinforcing that pinch seam where the actual slider sits. Another pro, IMO, is that welding them to the framerails adds a bit more rigidity to everything becuase now you'd have to force the slider to flex as well if your frame wanted to flex.

If you need to take them off just use a carbon arc but I doubt that you would have to remove them.

Yea, the only way I'll remove mine is if a rock does it for me... which I doubt will happen.

Great, watch that happen now....
