I have a 99 XJ that was wrecked in the front drivers side. I have plenty of spare parts for the body but I am not sure about straightening the frame which is bent a little in front of the wheel. Is it worth the try or is it probably a waste of time?

That would depend on your skill level. from what I can see in the pics, it is just the cross member that is bent. If the side rails are OK then the cross member can be straightened enough with a slide hammer to be OK again

Well skill is not great but I can weld and hit throngs with a hammer lol. Would a strong bumper help with the cross member if it is not able to be straightened to perfection? Not trying to cut corners but not really interested in investing a lot of money.

Are you sure it's just bent in the front? Mine had less damage than this from a head on collision and it pushed everything on the driver side back. The rear axle wasn't even square any more.

Ouch. Sorry to hear about your jeep. How fast was your collision? Mine was at about 20-25 miles per hour and the other car was able to stop when we collided. It's only 2wd so I hope that helps a little with damage.

I was doing about 45 when I hit my brakes, slid about 10-15' before the impact so maybe 35-40. He was probably doing 15-20.

Mine is a 2wd as well. We hit bumper to bumper which may explain the shifting I have on mine. He was driving an older 90s Ford F150.

BTW I enjoy the part of Ark you live in. I have family in Batesville and my grand parents use to live in Timbo and worked at the Folk Center. Been awhile since the family and I have been there though.

shredded that Toyota. Hopefully yours is mostly cosmetic. If it can be aligned I probably wouldn't worry about the front of the frame being slightly tweaked.

My family is all focused in Onia and Timbo. If you don't mind what was your Grandparents name?

Yeah I think they totaled the toy and since I only had liability I just sent it to the field. I have a project idea for it is why I have been curious.
