View Full Version : Will these seats work?

I have a pair of used front XJ seats from a 95 I think. My son has a 99 2 door with bad seats. Can I put the 95 seats on the 99 frames and dance off into the sunset?

Not today. You need a different band for that. The frames are much different where the seat bolts. The 95 has a curved base and the 99 has a flat base

Follow up on the seats. I finally got the bad seat out of the XJ. Got the phone number of a retired gentleman about 30 miles away who works on car seats. I took both seats. he is going to take the bottom cover off the donor seat and put it on my son's for $20. He said it was the easiest way for him to fix it.

You WILL snap the seat bolts be prepared for that. I snapped one on mine and every xj in the jy has the same bolt snapped.

Yea I have snapped the one that goes through the floor on 3 of the jeeps in the family. No big deal. replaced with a stainless bolt and piece of stainless on the bottom for strength

I didn't bother removing the bolt on mine. 3 is good enough.
