the xj is finally lifted!

well after waiting and waiting to finally get time to do the work me and my buddy decided to pull the xj into his garage this weekend to do my lift kit. the instructions quoted the job at 4-6 hrs for a 3" kit with new coils and add a leaf. luckily this was not my first kit so i knew they never compensate for frozen bolts and trips to the parts store to replace things you find broken and break yourself haha. well needless to say 2 days and alot frozen bolts later my xj is finally lifted. i set a new personal record for only 1 trip to the parts store. i did have 2 cracked leafs though so my AAL became a bastard pack. my neighboor had a old set of leaf packs out of an early 90s 2 door ford explorer. it rides a little stiffer cause the explorer leafs are thicker then the xj ones but in the end we got it done and it looks awesome! :smiley-gen165:

i just bought the tires. they are 30" procomp mud terrains. i agree though they do look small. i got alot more lift then i thought i would. i put the same lift on my old xj just a different brand and this xj sits almost 2 inches higher. i dont mind the tires though. i actually like the look of having some daylight in the wheel wells. it almost gives it the illusion that its even higher then it is.

N1TZU do you have any close ups of that home brew snorkel? ive been thinking about one on mine cause i do see some deep water where i usually wheel. yours looks pretty good in your avatar and our xjs are almost twins haha

Looks great. My lift said it would take 6-10 hours took me 3 nights from500 to 100 in the morning in a shop with torches air tools and evrything i needed

Thanks! Yea we did all the work in buddys shop. I didnt see daylight those 2 days. We had all the air tools going also. Heres some pics if the xj from the trail ride this past thursday. I also have a thread with alot more pics.
