The July & August work parties were a tremendous success with a great deal of work completed - thank you to everyone who attended to help get this trail open as soon as possible.
Heavy equipment operation will continue on the mountain throughout the next 2 weeks (through August 22nd) and there should be some really cool progress to check out for the September work party dates.

SUPPORTING FUNDS FOR WORK PARTY MATERIALS AND SUPPLIES ARE BEING PROVIDED BY RCO DEVELOPMENT GRANT #14-1809D

Yacolt Burn Recreation Plan Off-road Vehicle Trail Development

This 2-year grant was awarded in 2015 to the Pacific Cascade Region of the Washington Department of Natural Resources in the amount of $373,800 + DNR Matching Funds of $93,700.
This brings the total of this maintenance grant to $467,500 to develop 6 new miles of motorized trails in the Yacolt Burn State Forest (including 4x4, ATV & Dirtbike trails).
RCO grants are funded by your OHV fuel tax dollars and OHV permit dollars - hours worked by volunteers contribute to DNR's eligibility to continue to receive these grants in the future.

Specific details about the grant can be viewed here: secure.rco.wa.gov/prism/search/ProjectSnapshot.aspx?ProjectNumber=14-1809

That's awesome.. Love getting to help with stuff like this... even if it is a small time trail system belonging to a local Jeep club, like I've been able to do where I am.. Wish I lived closer... I'd love to chip in... not to mention getting to run new trails like that before anyone else does...
