Hello all in the market for a Jeep Cherokee. Ive been doing research and think that this listing on craigslist might be interesting. Since I really have no mechanic skills at all I figured I get a Jeep Cherokee as cheap as possible and try to learn about the vehicle and work on it myself. Here is a listing that just come up. Thoughts?

Being it's in that area and has noted rust underneath it's probably not a good option, even for a vehicle to learn on. Rust is one of the things that can ruin the whole vehicle if it hits the wrong spot. And even if it's not structural it's a pain to fix and not really something for a beginner. You could look at it anyway since it's a good price but I don't have high hopes.

I'm with xj wheeler, 96 was the worst year for unibody and floor rot. I bought a 2 wd and converted it to 4wd and painted it just because it was rust free... You can change every part on a jeep but a solid chassis is the most important thing.
