So I ordered a new rocker arm set for my engine rebuild from 4WheelParts.com on Aug 14th. for "in-store pickup" to save on shipping.

They were stock rockers (maybe a little stronger), but otherwise basic. Nothing Fancy! Nothing Custom!

I got a phone call from them the next day confirming that I was ordering them for a jeep.... and the guy tells me they'll take a little longer to get in than otherwise parts would.

I tell him no problem thinking he meant like a week or so.

TODAY I call back to see if maybe they forgot to call or if there was some issue.
The guy today tells me that they have to wait until 4WheelParts has an entire truck ordered from that vendor before they'll even be sent.
Like a freaking semi-truck full of parts.... :shocker:

He then says, for $8 more, he can have them sent sooner.

I asked him, How long are we talking? like next week? or months down the road?
He responded, "could be tomorrow, could be in 3 months. Just depends on how long it takes the load to become full." :shocker:

Would have been nice to know weeks ago when I ordered them.
I probably would have been willing to work with the extra $8.

Soon as I said, "cancel it", he asked if he could call me back to let me know what's going on.

:rolleye0012: ........sure. I can cancel them now or after you call me back.
:bang:

they won't last long doing that. not in the day and age of some retailers delivering within a few hours of clicking "buy"

Yeah that is no good for customer service.. 1 the main company having to wait till they have a full truck load before sending it out, and 2 4wheel parts for not giving folks a heads up when its going to be a bit or if there is anything that is going to cause it to be a few days or weeks before their stuff will ship out from the manufacturer or whatever... And even more so to keep up with your customers when things are delayed a bit.. that way they know what is going on... and can make their decisions on whether they want to wait or not..
