So I just picked up my first pair of reading glasses last week. The Dr. said I have astigmatism (gotta look that up). I selected a nice frame to make them seem less like "glasses" and I only need them sometimes (not on the computer, for example). But I still feel old :( .

I guess it could be worse, I could have needed bifocals  :smiley-scared002:

Worn glasses since I was 3. Just got rid of them about a year ago with Lasik. I now only wear a pair when driving to enhance my far distant vision. Don't need them for the computer or to read.

I bought some reading glasses about a year ago. I use them to see small print about a foot from my face. I hate it. I had better than 20/20 for most of my life. I don't use them for the computer or anything that is normal sized lettering. It's just the real close up stuff that I can't focus on any longer.

I don't wear glasses, but my vision is not as good as it used to be, I keep thinking that maybe I should go get the eyes checked out. I'll do that tomorrow :headbag:

Those are cute ... as soon as mine arrived I started wishing I had selected something with thinner frames.

Are we women ever satisfied?

mine have a glazing on them that makes them anti-scratch, worked on tractors last summer, I can say, they do truly work!

I can tell time from a clock at 100 feet away. No need for glasses

My work has a clock about that far from my department and I can read the time. I do feel my eye sight is deteriorating from all this computer monitor radiation i'm absorbing.

Been wearing them since I was a freshmen in high school. It's annoying, but can't do anything about it now.

Station - I don't think it's "astigmatism", I think it's a "stigmatism". From what I understand, it's when your eye's curve at the pupil is not smooth but bumpy.

Astigmatism is an optical defect in which vision is blurred due to the inability of the optics of the eye to focus a point object into a sharp focused image on the retina. This may be due to an irregular or toric curvature of the cornea or lens. There are two types of astigmatism: regular and irregular ....

... and so on. That's my problem right there. Wikipedia, the quickest I could find.
