Hello, my name is Eric. New to the forum, in the market for a Jeep Cherokee. I really don't want one that has to much mileage on it. Anyway can any of you more experienced Jeep owners let me know if this is a good deal or not. Link is attached below.

That is very low milage and very nice looking. The only drawback for that year is the heads crack if you overheat them. But keep them well maintained and not a problem.

Thank you for response. I messaged the owner. He said he bought it about 5 months ago, selling because he got a new pickup truck. He says it mostly sits, but he drove a bit the other day and checked everything. Runs fine. Of course you can't fully trust someones word and I really do not know to much about cars. He said he replaced the cracked windshield so vehicle has to be registered and that the power locks on doors to not work.

What are you going to use it for? Wheeling, trails, just a daily driver? IMO that thing is way too nice to see any trails for a while, and got that much money, EVERYTHING, including the door locks would have to work......

My $.02, find one local that the owner has put a few miles on, and drive it before you commit to anything. That way if youre paying that much, at least youd have some service records, and can see what honestly works and what doesnt.

It looks pretty nice to me, but seeing as it's in New Jersey, I would take a long hard look at the underside to make sure there is no rust. That being said I still think it's listed about $1k too high.

If no rust, and no other major problems I would bring in a printout of the NADA Clean Retail value of it ($4850) and try to talk them down from there after pointing out all the flaws and how much it would cost a shop to fix the door locks. If you could get it for $4500, I would consider it a pretty decent deal for both parties.
