Crawl for the Cure Pics

So my wife and little man and I attended the Crawl for the Cure over the weekend, and man what a blast! We went up there with some friends, and had one of the greatest times I've ever had with my clothes on lol. My friend Brent's Xj crawler had a few issues that took some time to get sorted, but wow, that thing is a beast!

I got stuck once on the first day, in a giant hole that wasn't there last year. They also got like 6" of rain, which made some of the lower areas pretty sloppy. Joe from Iron Rock Offroad hooked me up to his JK and had me out in no time.

My Xj took minimal damage, including a tree that I kissed with the rf fender, and I lost a rear bumper cap. I also tried to bend my brake lines to get some room out of them, and ended up snapping them. My friend Brent from IRO brought me some stainless lines, so after my wife took a trip to the parts store to get some brake line, we had my extended lines installed, bled, and ready to rock! It went off without a hitch from there on out. No overheating, no issues, and even had ice cold AC the whole time!

My wife and little man absolutely had a blast! My wife told me my goal is to build my Jeep and make it capable enough to tackle "the stairs" (as seen with Brent's xj in the video), money permitting lol. I'll be looking into bumpers, frame stiffeners, and maybe some quick disconnects in the near future.

All I can say is, what an incredible weekend! I'm still on a high, and I can't wait until the next event! We're hooked!!

This was the first trail we went on... It was a little sketchy, and was a level "difficult," and I had 2 kids in the car that didn't belong to me. They were riding along because their dad had a broken axle.

Halfway through, Brent's big Jeep started dumping transmission fluid... And while he was getting towed down the trail, he snapped his orbital steering, blew a tire and bent a rim. Needless to say, his Jeep slept on the trail, and we went down and fixed it the next day.

I'm not a big fan of mud. I prefer climbs and sand. So I share your concern with that bleedin great hole...:D

Looks like a good time for sure!! Glad the Wife is hooked... Hoping once I get my GF out on some actual trails she'll enjoy it and be hooked... but we'll see!! Really wish I could go out wheeling with the IRO folks.. especially seeing as how almost my whole XJ build is IRO setup... Look forward to seeing how you build up your XJ further from now on out!!!

Apparently not!! LOL.. At least the good thing is.. she owns a Jeep!!! LOL.. Now if I could just get her into being a true Jeeper and wanting to go out and have some fun with it... then I think we might both be even happier... But I'll work on that one slowly.. can't take the little one offroad just yet anyways... But can't wait to take them both for their first off road fun!!!

Yeah that Iron Range mud sucks to wash off. I still have to pressure wash under it a few more times, or get the sprinkler under it for a few hours... And i need to clean the mud off the inside of my windshield, and my dash and all that lol.

But i figured its better than letting it sit and bake on for too long.

How come? Myst be a brand new little one? We had our little man in the side by side in the CO mountains at 7 months. Was it a good idea, maybe not.... But he sure enjoyed it :D
