The newest mobile radio from Baofengtech... a clone of the Yeasu FTM-350.
This radio has been cloned before by a company called Vero-Telecom. Dan from The 4x4 Podcast has one of them, though they are no longer available on Amazon.

The new BTech UV-50x3 is available though and looks to have the same/similar specs. Price on Amazon is currently $339.89.

I have not been fond of BTechs other two mobile radios, however this radio I am contemplating. The only thing I don't see mentioned is APRS. The Yeasu and Vero-Telecom both had the capability of doing APRS with an add on GPS. THe BTech has the removable plate where the GPS goes..The manual for the UV-50X3 does not mention APRS however I did find an accessory listed in the BTech manual for a bluetooth TNC and GPS called the BTG-50x3A1. It is not on the BTech website and I can not find anything on the internet. Per BTech on Amazon it's coming in the next couple of weeks. If the radio uses the same data port configuration as the Yeasu (doubtful) I should be able to hook my bluetooth TNC up to it so it is not that big of a deal.

I think this radio may be $75 - $100 too much though. I have said the same thing about the Baofengtech mobile radios. There are new dual band mobile radios from more well known manufacturers for about the same price.
