Since I wrecked my car a while back, I've been needing something to replace it. Bought a 2010 Tacoma 4x4. Gonna prove that I can build a pretty mallcrawler too. Already ordered the lift and bumper for it.

Was it the Mustang Jim? You had some work in that

Nah still got the mustang. I wrecked my DD Nissan Sentra. And I have fortune in the mustang now. Was going turbo on it, but just spent that money for parts for this truck.

Never enough for all the toys eh? We should have rich Uncles with deep pockets

The Tacoma's can look pretty nice with just a little bit of work... I'd take the Tacoma over a Sentra anyday... I mean I guess the Sentra probably gets much better fuel economy compared to the Tacoma though... either way look forward to seeing the Big Jim's Mall Crawler build!!

Sucks about the sentra but that's a pretty nice taco there.

Oh im not sorry about the sentra. Had a smile on my face during the whole crash. I was ready to get rid of that car. So far I love this truck. When I first saw it online I knew 100% that i was taking that topper off. But after buying it and seeing the inside im thinking I may leave it.

Yeah, I'm not one for a topper usually either but an expedition rig with a rack and supplies pulls it off nicely.

Everything for the first round is here. New wheels/tires (33x12.5x17). 6" lift kit, ARB bumper and new winch. The aussies build a great bumper, but are shit at writing instructions. Still a few parts left to buy. Just need time to work on it now.

Gonna look proper! I like a nicely built taco... not one for those fluffy dealer-built pieces, but one that looks like it knows a thing or two.

So I got the bumper and winch installed. And Wayne was right there were about 500 bolts. Had to install the bumper before the lift to see how much the front would drop. It went down almost an inch and feels pretty spongy. So I ordered bilstien adjustable coilovers to make the lift the right height once installed.

There's this really cool taco downtown that I see whenever I go to the med center. I'll post pics later as they're on my laptop. One of the coolest modern built trucks I've seen in a while.

You don't see many modern trucks done like this here so I figured you could use the inspiration. :D

Nice truck for sure. But dont distract me with that, I'm trying to build a mallcrawler here!! Started on the lift today, should be finished tomorrow. Nobody told me how expensive it is to build a mallcrawler though. Im about $6k into this thing and ive barely paid the first payment. BTW more overpriced parts came in today.

Jim, you have been spoiled by your XJ. Others seem to be more dollars

Well I've installed all the parts I have right now. Lift, wheels/tires, coilovers, bumper, winch, LED KC fog lights, and new stereo system. Time to buy more parts!!

I will say it was one of the most difficult lifts I have installed. Therefore I can't be a real mall crawler. Cause one once told me the reason people say "Built not bought" is because they can't afford to have it built. Wrong!

Quick update. I got rid of the bed cap and installed a bed rack. Put on a new rear bumper as well as a few lights. This truck is starting to turn into more of an expedition type rig rather than a mallcrawler. But we'll see what comes next.

I think they usually turn out looking better as expedition rigs anyways... Either way looking good Jim!!
