Looking to complete a wheel upgrade on our 2000 XJ. Tires are relatively new so we are only going 15x8. Stock back spacing is 5.25" and most everything I'm able to find is 3.25". Any idea if the tires will clear the fenders? 29" tall tires, stock suspension.

3.25" is pretty overkill for a stock height, 29" tire setup. Personally I would look for no less than 4.5" bs, unless you plan on lifting later.

We are thinking to lift the truck very slightly, just for tire clearance. How do you feel about the economy lift kits? 2" spacers and shackles, or blocks under the leaf springs. I was thinking to use springs but I can only find 2" coils.

just kidding. a lot of us have trimmed our fenders to fit bigger tires.

ever plan on going offroad? those blocks are trash and a bad idea offroad is in your future

Don't use blocks! I've read nothing but bad things about them.

I'm with you on the fender thing! Do you think the shackles would be ok with some moderate offroad activity?

extended shackles will be perfect! will help your pinion angle as well

teraflex budget boost (1371200) off Amazon $138.03. Had this lift put on 3 of the jeeps in the family. very satisfied.

The best option is new springs but for 2" it's perfectly fine to go with spacers and shackles. Like mentioned, avoid blocks like the plague. They add stress to the springs and can move/break.
