Typical aussie countryside ... was raining the other week,

... and on fire this week.

... and sorry to disappoint ... but No ... its not broken down .. :D

Old haycart at the sale ... the great big wagon rims, with hardly any rubber on them,

... are a mongrel on our typical rural roads

... damned if I know why anybody would fit them .. ..

They were hard workers back in the day.

.... and Nope - didnt buy a thing.

The 120 x 8 x 2, seasoned hardwood planks I wanted, needed remilling - to suit what I had planned,

... and this old blade sharpener went for crazy money. :bang:

I think I am too.

The pile at the back of the old Commer truck in the piccy above musta been been milled with a bent chainsaw ..

Not warped ... but I dont think one stick was the same width/thickness .. :D

Some good sticks if you had heavy duty planers & thicknessers - as some was over 3" thick,

... but the ironbark stuff is way too hard to play with - just using DIY gear.

So I let someone else have it for raised garden beds or cattle yards.

Last sale had a bunch that could have been sold as pretzels.

So Im kicking myself for not getting a pile last year, that was near perfect ... and then worrying about how to get the 3 ton truckload home ... after I bought it ... instead of before buying it.

I know what you mean. There are some really neat woods I would like to get. There is one called Mountain Mahogany that has three different bands of color, yellow, red and brown. I thought they would make interesting turned table and chair legs. Another pretty one is Madrone. Lots of color there too. Oh well

That is a nice trailer you got there behind your XJ.. Pretty cool to see that old stuff there @ the sale... I like the old beastly looking Semi trucks, especially the ones they had there in Aus that they used for hauling the Road Trains.... That is a pretty nice looking Commodore Ute too... So wish they had something like that in the US (would be the modern El Camino), with a beautiful LSx heart!!
