I am more of a Kenwood man myself... I did get my Little Tarheel II today! Should be HF Mobile VERY SOON... I hope!

I wonder how many of the Houston area guys would like to set up a Jeep Field day?

Those little Yaesu radios are pretty decent mobile rigs. I have an FT-1900R in the jeep with just a mag mount and am able to hit repeaters out to about 40 miles on 5 watts.

I have a number of offroad ham friends and may plan on an offroad fieldday in the future.
