My 93 XJ has been in Indiana since birth well almost.
I am going to be making body panels to put in after i cut out the rust.
My question is what do you guy's use? I have and can get more 16g sheet
That's what used on the floor. And the rockers are well what rockers.
They will be getting 2x8 tubing. This will be a trial rig only.
But I want it to look halfway decent.

I'm doing something similar, as mines from iowa. Just got through putting several 16 gauge patch panels in the floor. I've got 2x6" tubing for the rockers, 3/16" thick. I've read some with 1/8" getting bent so I figure it's worth the added weight. I'm also going to be adding several 1.5"x3" tubing (3/16") for braces to tie them to the frame stiffeners.

Personally, I think 8" tubing is a bit wide for a flat piece. Just my preference. The 6" sticks past the door about 1" from the pics I've seen but you could add some 1.5" round tubing to have more protection on the outside of the rectangular tubing.

Thanks XJWheeler
The reason for the 2x8 is im am going to put on a cage.
Nothing to fancy but I need to have room for my 13/4" DOM

Ah, that makes sense then. And that will strengthen it even further. If you want, post your progress. I'm sure a lot, myself included, would love to see it.

I was planing on.
Rust&smoke was put on the lift and getting ready to go under the knife.
For the long weekend hopefully I can mock. Up some body panels.
Still need to get a plasma cutter sometime soon.
