I have my radios mounted differently in each XJ, I will post about the 93 XJ at a later date when it is all reassembled.

The radio is mounted in the glove box, at least for now... or maybe forever. It is up and of the way. It is mounted here because the aftermarket harness was not long enough to reach under the front passenger seat. The wiring is routed through the FM radio antenna coax grommet into the passenger side fender up to the battery.

The coax is run through the Jeeps main wiring harness grommet on the driver's side firewall to the antenna on a fender mount.

The radio has been in the Jeep for 5 months now and I just got around to figuring out where I wanted to mount the remote head. I have the "goose neck" mounted just need to make the bracket to attach the remote head.

Not sure what I am going to do with the external speaker yet, will try to mount it to the shaft of the remote head mount.

Browning BR-180, $27.48 on Amazon. (Amazon.com: BROWNING BR-180 Amateur Dual-Band Mobile Antenna: GPS & Navigation@@AMEPARAM@@http://ecx.images-amazon.com/images/I/21Om9UYr1SL.@@AMEPARAM@@21Om9UYr1SL) It has taken a beating. It gets smacked on trees daily.
