my power door actuators are crappen out on me. they don't work when i push the button but i hear them.Should i replace my old ones with this? http://www.parts-express.com//pe/showdetl.cfm?&User_ID=16505782&St=7817&St2=-82554385&St3=65936457&DS_ID=3&Product_ID=9675&DID=7
Has anyone installed these before? Or should i just replace them with an oem actuator?

Before you take them out, take the panel off and lube the mechanism. Most of the time when they don't work, they are trying to move a stiff rod and they are too puny to do it.

Is the rocker hard to operate?

not sure what you mean by rocker? I'm assuming the lock unlock button. I think that 2 of them aren't hard to push with your fingers. The driver side rear door lock is hard to push unlock/lock with your finger. the drivers side lock has trouble you have to push it back and forth a couple times to get it to unlock. The two back door locks don't work when you push the switch up or down. the passenger side works and the driver side is the same you have to push up and down a couple times for it to unlock with the switch(same as by hand).

The thingy on the door you push to manually lock the doors. If you change the lock motor out, they are riveted in with 1/4" rivets. The pop rivet gun is real expensive to get. Use 1/4"X12" allen head screws with nylock nuts to put them back in.

thanks for the allen head screw info it will save me when i change it but my main question was about the aftermarket or oem door lock actuators. Have you ever used the ones i found or similar ones?

I have only used OEM. I have several spares.

I had mine apaet and cleaned them up. I then used white lithium grease and they are now locking and unlocking well. That was about a year ago and they are still in good shape.
The OEM actuators are OK if they are lubed up.

They came off my 85 that I rolled, but I am going to hang on to them. In my opinion, the OEM will probably be better than aftermarket.

I have the four of my Jeep. If you want them, make an offer. Tested, all work.

Sometimes you just need to run relays, that will usually fix the problem. I saw a thread on one of the other forums, I'll go try and find it and let you know. :patriot:
