Well I picked this up about 8 months ago after it had been in a collision,.. I think I can get it looking good and road worthy again.

It was hit in the drivers side wheel in the "C" on the diff is bent as well as the obvious body damage:

So I traded a Comanche Slider window for a replacement axle, bought 2 2005 Fenders in black as well as the Rubicon factory checker plate rock guards.the goal to push/pull the corner of the tub out well enough to bolt the parts back on and get it on the road.

Carnage is limited to the front axle and some tin,...

So it begins,.

off subject a little: Is that big JEEP sign for sale?

JENSSEN
06-01-2015, 11:21 PM
Nah the sign isn't for sale,... unless you have alot lol

So where did I leave off,..

Once I had the front of the tub looking much better, I examined the floor that took a good part of the hit and umm,... fawked

http://i651.photobucket.com/albums/uu235/RACE4THECURE/FC58675E-1175-400B-AB16-1898FE581508.jpg

and a very wrinkled corner

JENSSEN

So I needed a new section of floor, so I went to Affordable Auto Wrecking in Calgary and found what I needed!

I stripped it away from the tub with a bad @$$ spot weld remover tool I bought.

To make sure the sections were strong once welded I made a internal mending plate to support the area being welded.

What a great source. Around here we only have one wrecking yard with TJs in it, and they want new prices for used. They say it is "vintage"

Yes I know some of the welds are a bit big and droopy but its no fun upside down,.. I will grind them inspect for any porosity and re weld if required,..

Next step prep for filler and Rhino liner on the lower sections :)

The goal is to get it back on the road and into a new home. I repair them like I may keep them :) but alas the Alberta chapter of the Jeep rehab center must put them back into the wild.

Nice environmentally sound plan, catch, repair, and release. Keeps the good genes in the pool. Now I better not see you catch and release a Compass...
