I just finished making a trailer dolly jack. I made it primarily for two reasons: I don't back the trailer as well as I used to in the driveway and after unhooking the trailer, it seems a little heavier and harder to properly place at the end of the driveway than it used to. All of the materials that I used to build it were in the garage somewhere. I looked at info and pictures on the internet for about 30 minutes to get an idea on how to build one. I found there is nothing concrete as to how thick the metal has to be or the exact dimensions it has to be: or for that matter how big or small the wheels must be. You should consider where you will be moving your trailer and what size the trailer is. I am moving the trailer on a concrete driveway that has just a little slope. I used 6" metal wheels from an old lawn mower. I think of primary importance is for the handle to be at an approximate 45degree angle when the post with the trailer ball on it is straight up and down. Finally my dolly except for the wheels and hitch ball, mine is made of stainless steel.
