Here is an interesting link to a study and commentary on ethanol as a fuel for autos.

I would think it would due to being less efficient, leading to worse fuel economy.

Well there ya go.
Thanks for that, 4.3LXJ.

I've never gotten joy from ethanol. Always grief, with all my vehicles. Even unwittingly killed a lawn mower.
And now I learn that it is actually BAD for the environment.

:flameon: to ethanol. :bacondance:

ethanol muck ...

Thankfully we still have non ethanol fuel available as well as the 10% mix stuff.

Something that article didnt mention is that Brazils ethanol content is way high compared to USA or Aust ...

stilll ... if essentially, the stuff causes more pollution than petrol ... then a govt, has no right to mandate the use of it ...... imho.

When reading this. I also get the message that we need to reduce subsidies on farmers. Ethanol is also from corn. One of Americas largest crops. Farmers are paid to grow an excess of it.
I never bought into the whole ethanol thing.

That excess of it has caused for the corn futures price to drop below $4 a bushel. Going to be a lot of farmers standing in line at the poor house after this year. Lot of guys going to lose their ass.
