Apparently during my absence from the forums, the enterprising group from Durhamtown Plantation in GA expanded

Durhamtown Telico is open. And yes, for us older folks, the name Telico means a lot.

Support your regional OHV parks, before they are only memory.

Glad to hear that. The reasons it was shut down were kind of sketchy anyway. One more down, a bunch more to go

One reason heard was the impact to the watershed.......which is NOTHING like a watershed out west.

Recent reports had bulldozers building......a road for a subdivision....as if that is low impact.

Anyway, more on Durhamtown Telico:

And honoring the old Telico ratings:

Spare Film rated:

Spare Tire rated:

Thinking this will be Spare Driveshaft before too long:

Another spare film rated:

Nothing yet that I could tell was Spare Vehicle rated...but this is the SE mountains....if not now, something like Schoolbus will be found.

I need to get wrenching!!!

For those that have never seen the legend that was Telico...

This vid from 4x4TV was posted roughly 2-3 years after Telico was closed. The SFWDA put up a good fight, but the powers that be were unmoved.

Both my old CJ-5 and my 1991 Explorer have wandered the trails in Telico, obviously the CJ did much more.;)

Road for a subdivision, I smell money influencing that closure

Yeah, that seems to always what makes the local governments get after those of us with motorized hobbies that don't turn left a dozen or more times.

I happen to like racing, BTW.

I still have my hare scramble bike and my enduro bike, and raced three wheelers when Honda had that 250 with full suspension.

Never got to race the 4 wheeled stuff, wanted to.

It is more expensive, but I had a business designing and installing lift kits at the time, so the business paid for R&D :D
