Pulling a Car with XJ

On May 22 were moving. My 95 Civic is currently dead. Im going about a mile and I have a Reese hitch and a willing friend. How should I hook the Civic to the XJ and aside from the possible cop sees this scenario is this a bad idea? Civic need a radiator and battery with slight vacuum leak on coldstart.

If it is just a mile I'd throw a battery in the civic, turn the flashers on, hook a tow strap on it to the frame up front and pull it on down the road.

Do you have a tow strap with a loop on both ends and a shackle? If so, put one loop of the strap inside your hitch and then run the pin through it. On the other end, use a shackle to hook your strap to the factory tow loop that hondas have on the front under the bumper. Should be one on both sides.
