I bought clear turn signal lenseshttp://www.ebay.com/itm/97-01-JEEP-CHEROKEE-CHROME-FRONT-BUMPER-PARKING-LIGHTS-CLEAR-CORNER-LAMPS-/351007094485?pt=Motors_Car_Truck_Parts_Accessories&fits=Year%3A2001%7CMake%3AJeep%7CModel%3ACherokee&hash=item51b9a736d5&vxp=mtr for my Cherokee a few weeks back and was running clear bulbs. I did not like the look so I went to http://www.superbrightleds.com/ and bought turn signal LEDS. Using LEDs in a vehicle will make your lights blink fast do to the low amp usage of the lights. Super brights leds has the flasher unit that will make your LEDS blink at the normal pace http://www.superbrightleds.com/moreinfo/flashers-load-resistors/ep27l-led-bulb-electronic-flasher/784/838/

These are the LEDS I got.
I will try to post pics when I can

Glad you got the look you wanted, and glad that you shared the flasher unit as well, as most don't know that this is needed until they pick up some LED's and have the hyper flashing...

Some vehicles need 'load resistors' fitted in line on stop/tail/side lights, again, due to low power draw. The load resistors will cure any 'bulb out' warning lamps showing, of flickering effect. :)
Thanks for the links, I've been struggling to find LEDs in the correct fitting for Jeep. :D

Thanks for the write up. Wanted to do this myself. If you got pics do post; would love to see how they look (before I buy :D).

Its front instead of rear, but this is a before and after of headlight swap. I done nothing apart from changed the halogen bulbs for Cree LED units. (Sidelights also swapped for LED)

I have been looking at those cree LED bulbs, but was not sure about reliability. How long have you had them? Have you had any heat issues?

They've been in around 2 months now with no issues at all. Heat isn't a problem, as the fans do their job well. All my front facing lights are Cree LEDs and have been faultless from fitting. Cree claim a 50,000 hour continuos use life span, and from my experience I wouldn't doubt that claim. :D they are a bit more expensive than SMD and Epistar LED units, but worth the extra few $$ as they do produce more Lumens per watt than the others.

Which head light housing did you use? Where did you get your bulbs?

I used the standard H4 housing (UK market) I'm not sure what type/fitting the US market have. You should be able to pick up a pair of Crystal Clear housings in H4 at reasonable money if needed, that said, the bulb units come in all the main fitting types.
Here's the clicky link to the most recent version :)

I know this is off topic but, are there a lot of Jeeps over there? I would think since Land rover is made there they would be the popular 4x4

There's a few healthy Jeep dedicated forums/clubs in the UK, landrover are in the majority. They will keep goin on about 'the original and the best 4x4' poor deluded folk. Lol. There's a healthy rivalry between the two camps. :D

I went and got a strip of LEDs at autozone. They cost me 35.00. I used a switch in the passanger corner to turn them off and on

Nice... was thinking about the same idea on my 90 once I get it running.. since the factory retractable light is broken... Hope to not need it out on the trails, but would be great to have a nice and bright engine bay!!
