So within the past week I started hearing a sound coming from the rear axle. Me and my fiance agreed that it sounds like bad bearings on a skate board so we are thinking it could be a bad wheel bearing. We only hear it when I let off the gas at about 45 to 55 mph. So my question is has anyone had this happen to them it the bearing I want to get a good idea of what else it could be before I start throwing parts at it as I'm trying to save as I'm doing an 8.8 swap soon and don't want to spend a whole lot of money on the 35 just enogh to get by for a couple months.

My best guess would be a bad pinion bearing since it's only when you let off the gas and not constant.

Note: I'm definitely NOT a mechanic and most others on here know FAR more than me.

I didn't even think about a pinion bearing I'll have to look into that

Yes, differential related and probably the pinion bearing
