How do you install a regulator?

Iam wanting to know how to install a power window motor and regulator ? Does the regulator mount to a bracket on the window

I have a thread on this, but unfortunately it is for the pre 96 XJs. After removing the panel you will notice it is riveted to the door and has arm that attaches to the bottom of the glass.

Are the newer ones riveted in ? Hope not

I don't know for sure, but I suspect they are. The rivets are 1/4" pop rivets that you have to drill out. A cordless drill with a 1/4" bit works well

The door has to bars to make it go up and down right regulator arms ?

I have never had one apart. The closest thing I have to go on is a grand cherokee out back. I could look a little closer when the rain quits tomorrow

4934 can you tell me whats wrong with this picture and what do I need to fix it the gear that goes into the regulator is to big and dont the gear go inside of the regalutor ?
