Have you scored your Xj on the RTI ramp, or used the formulas to score it?
We scored our '98 the other day and it came in at 1100 on a 20* ramp. I was blown away because we are still running short arms on the front. I do have a lot of droop in the back which helps.

Post 'em if you got 'em!!!

Not yet but i'm school at heart so i want to. Its hard to find but i've always considered the 30° the official marker but many do the 20° or 23°. And with as hard as it is to find i doubt it will any time soon for the 30°. I remember back in the day the top rigs would aim for 1000 on a 30°.

I never figured how the degree makes a difference, the idea is how far you can flex with all 4 tires on the ground. You should get the same flex no matter how steep the ramp is. My 30* score was only around 750 I think.

I can pick it up with a forklift and get the same flex as I can on the ramp. I guess I need some RTI school'n.

Well, the whole idea for using a RTI is how far you can make it up. The higher the degree, the less you make it. So, your score is less the less you make it.

Not really sure of my scores, I have heard that some people score differently.

That brings up a few things about RTI. It is a score that is evaluated using wheelbase. That means a TJ and an XJ and a Samurai will all have different RTI scores for the same amount of suspension travel. So if you are bragging about RTI, at the very least it needs to be at the same ramp, on the same day with the same wheel base or the comparison is not really valid. In essence, If I ramp my Samurai with 12" suspension travel and my XJ with the same amount of travel, the scores won't even be close. I maintain that it is not the RTI, but suspension travel that counts.

The very week I finished my 1-ton steering....
On 5+ inches of lift, and with much tweaking needing to be done, and leaf springs that hate to flex.... I scored an 880 :( ...yea I know.
LCA and Shackle relocation brackets would prob net me a score near or over 1k.

I agree, as I noted earlier my score is different on the 2 most common ramps yet I still have the same amount of flex either way it goes.

different scores because the ramps have different Degrees... It means your front end gets higher off the ground in a shorter distance therefore you can not go as far up the steeper ramp.

Just cause it ramps good....doesn't mean it wheels good. :D

I haven't made a ramp attempt in a very long time because of the same reason others have mentioned. A good RTI score does not equate to better wheeler. But I did score in the 850 range on a d 30* ramp in the dirt when I attempted it.

By the way, I've also heard quite a bit of talk recently about the newer measuring stick called the Corner Travel Index. Thoughts? http://www.cornertravelindex.com/

I looked at that. It is more fair, but not perfect. For instance there still might be some discrepancy between something like a Samurai and an XJ just because you can only get so much travel in a Sammi suspension before it becomes unstable. But still all in all a much better system
