View Full Version : Leak near the radiator

4812what hose is under the radiator cap it run all the way down to the next picture. can you tell me if the tranny hoses run threw the radiator for cooling .. not sure how to fix my problem

Yes, the transmission lines do connect to a small cooler inside the radiator. Where exactly is it leaking from? If it is in fact coming from one of those connections for the trans line at the radiator, one of two possibilities for the cause and solution. (1) is the flare nut (aka line nut) is loose and simply tightening it will stop it. (2) There is an o-ring inside each connection, and if its past its prime that could be the cause for your leakage. Easy enough to unscrew it and swap in a new ring... cheap too.Consult a doctor if the problem persists. :p

Rubber o ring ? On picture 2 is where my problem the picture is the bottom passager side radiator its a little side ways the pic need to be up a down that nut is tight but iam wondering is there a way to take the old hoses off to put new

Ah, okay. Sorry for the misunderstanding. It looks like someone either replaced the line or cut the old one and put a hose clamp on instead. This should be okay in general, i have done something similar to install an external cooler. It could be that clamp just needs to be tightened, or the rubber is cracked... if that's the case i suggest replacing the line. You could probably get some more hose and patch it up, but with something so vital, and flammable, i think its best to be safe.
