I finally got done putting the lift on the jeep today. Its a RE 3.5" and I ended up getting about 4.5" instead. The shocks I bought for the lift aren't long enough. Would I be able to get away with getting shocks for a 6" lift and call it good? I'm trying to get as much articulation as possible.

How much short are they?

About an inch or so

In theory, the 6" shocks won't hurt. You will have to lower your bump stop another inch and you will loose that amount of up travel. The poser articulation you would gain is not what it seems. You need downward pressure by the springs on the wheel so it will get traction. Just the weight of the diff isn't worth much

So it wouldnt really be beneficial especially if I had to spend the extra time and money on extending bump stops? Maybe I'll just go with a 4.5 or 5 inch shock

That would be the best

BPE's? They would gain you an inch or two for your shocks, and keep the travel consistent with your springs.

BPEs will only gain about a 1/2 inch. I have a set of JKS on my Grand.
