If ya do please answer the poll and then post up what it is, trying to see if we have enough to warrant a separate section for tow rigs.

But I cannot vote twice. My tow rig is not for my jeep, just the all the wrecks the kid buys :D

A 2005 F350 with a Bullet Proof Diesel Modified 6.0L. Mainly use it to tow a 5th wheel (camping) trailer.

I would like a "tow rig / trailer" section. You got my vote!!

Here's how we've been doing it:

Now we have a long trailer:

Don't generally use it because the jeep is a dd, but we have used our work truck to haul it when evacuating and moving.

Its a 2010 3500hd crew, 2wd, gas, drw, with an 8' flatbed... and yes, that's a rental car hauler. Haven't bought one of those yet.

Here's the usual tow rig, I now have a tow bar set up so I dont have to drag a 1500lbs(682kg) trailer around.

You can, but a good flexy off road suspension does not make for a good tow rig

Need another choice in the poll .... Besides the tundra

Coz when I'm not using the XJ,

.... I'm using the little korean thing made of recycled mazda panels and a mitsubishi motor ... all held together by a factory fitted ford decal .. :D

I've got a '77 Chevy Custom 20 that I use to haul my toys around. Out of all the vehicles I've owned it is the only one that has never taken a crap on me. Gas and oil and it's good to go. 9mpg when empty coasting down a hill with wind to my back, 9mpg when going up a hill into the wind with 10k lbs. in tow. It is nothing if not consistent.

I believe the uglier the tow rig, the less likely someone is going to try to mess with it when you are off doing something fun.

Those aren't rust holes, they are brown crusty aerodynamic holes of awesomeness. Different colored bed - check, different colored wrong sized cap - check, radio and speakers removed - check, ball mount welded into the receiver so you have to bring a pipe wrench to change ball sizes the hard way - check, been passed down 3 generations - check. Fancy trucks pfft.

Just imagine a ford sold, copycat version, of a little Mazda B series Ute.

Probably some shots of it in my neglected build thread or somewhere.

Nice I will have to give it a gander. I'm debating on full restoring this one or selling it and picking up a 3/4 ton with 4x4 to throw a plow on. If I hadn't purchased my XJ and started throwing money into it I'd be working on the truck right now.

I would really like to build a 4x4 with a Crewcab on a reg cab longbed chassis. By the time I get to it, I won't need the crewcab.....all the kids will be grown and gone. lol

Like most people with too many projects. I either have too much money and no time, or too much time and no money. I need to find a happy medium so I can get some of the projects crossed off the list.
