4x4 Issues

Today driving to work in the snow my jeep kept popping out of 4x4 hi and making a nasty grinding noise any clues as to what that might be?:confused:

Maybe the linkage needs to be adjusted?

Linkage comes to mind. What transfer case? 231, or 242? If 242 full time, part time, or doesn't matter which?

There are some grommets and bushings in the linkage that are likely worn out and not allowing the 4wd to engage completely.

I agree. The linkage is the first place to look
