If one of you have been thinking about getting your Amateur radio license and wouldn't mind that little added push I'd like to do a series of segments for the XJ TALK SHOW!

The idea is this. We would do a series of audio clips, 3 to 5 minutes in length, about your trek in getting your license.

No set time frame or maximum number of segments. I would just like to help people understand what steps they would go through and also feel more at ease in going through the steps.

This doesn't have to be restricted to just one person, we could follow a couple of people.

We would problem get all the segments completed before airing them on the show.

Thoughts? Interest? :patriot:

I'm not that interested in getting a licence but I would be interested in listening to a segment on the process.

Do it. This is something I had interest in years ago and lost. I'm thinking about taking it up again just for another hobby.

If anyone is interested in doing this, and/or needs/wants advice on how to make it happen, feel free to PM me and I'll see what I can do to help you out, technically or otherwise.

I think it would be a great idea... I'm looking to get my license, have been reading a few study guides, but def want to study more so that I don't have to have any worry of passing/failing the test.. Especially while studying for other important tests I'm working on studying for at the same time..

Now days it's much cheaper than before. $200 and you're in business, $40 if you just buy a hand held 2m/70cm transceiver.

Just a little bump. Shirley someone needs the nudge of a commitment to the podcast to get their license. :D

I was thinking the other day of seeing if there was a podcast out there that would help folks study the info...

I don't think I could do the podcast thing very well.. but if I did, guess that would def help me with the information for getting the lisc.

I don't either, but somehow Tony talks me into it occasionally.

So, it's not exactly a podcast, but this guy's put together a series of Youtube videos.
They've been helping me when I cant sit and read, but have time to listen, and glance.
(like when I'm at work)
He goes over things pretty well, and really spells things out, it's all by chapter, and in order.
The best part is, he does a little quiz at the end of each video, and offers the answers at his website to check your work.
So if you're looking for another tool to help study/prepare for the test, these vids should help.
Good luck!
