So I have noticed that my heater seems to be getting cooler and cooler. Right now I have to wait for the engine to completely warm up before I start to get heat out of any vents. The AC works fine and my coolant is full. When I change the selector to any position the air flow does change. Does this mean I have a clogged heater core?

I would first flush the heater core with CLR in both directions. if that doesn't help get ready for the dash removal

I would like to add that I can hear my compressor kicking on and off when the heater is running (dunno if that is normal or not).

Will try a flush when I get stateside in 37 days. Thanks for the tip.

The AC compressor will come on to dehydrate the air above 37°F. It is mormal

So where does the heater core sit?

Under the dash in front of the console. You have to pull the dash to access it

And the flush may mean you WILL be removing the dash, or at least removing the heater core hoses.

I don't follow. Why would you be removing the dash to flush the heater core? Also I have seen other suggest to let the CLR sit in your heater core for about 20 mins then flush it all out. I think I am going to be trying this soon as a flush did not get my heat back.

Have you checked the blend door?

I get airflow through all vents when selected but takes forever for heat to come through.

I had the same issue with mine. All I had to do was take the hoses off and reverse flush, problem solved, try the flush first as noted above, hope that cures the problem.

Where did you grab the hoses to do this?

Will this do the trick?

The crude you remove may cause a leak in the core. Just depends on how bad it is.

I took them loose at the engine and jammed a water hose in them. Never touched the heater core end. I may have just been lucky that was all it took.
