Wheeling the libby

So decided to take the Liberty out wheeling this past weekend (well my hubbys brother wanted to go out for his birthday). Only two of us went out, my Liberty and a friend of the family's 2012(?) Grand Cherokee.

Ended up doing a loop that Ive done multiple times in my Cherokee, its not flat, theres a couple of hills to climb which made it even more exciting lol.

I was very impressed on how my Libby handled out wheeling, pretty much did the whole trail with only a couple of hiccups (the Grand had to turn around and find an easier trail to take when we got to the most challenging hill)

Wow! good job on the pics that did show up. The Grand Cherokee driver is crazy. Don't know if I would have wanted to risk that pretty paint job. lol. This is giving me some confidence to take my guy out soon.

Lol well he didn't push it at all, the last couple of the pics of my Libby was the hill that he ended up turning around on since he couldnt make it up...I decided to push my Libby as hard as I could and she took it so I was impressed :)

Lol, yeah theyre lacking in that area...itll be alot better when I get a bigger lift and bigger tires ;)

She's not technically "stock" since she does have a 2" lift on her but compared to all my other vehicles, especially my XJ, she's "stock"

Libby's can be fun and with a nice lift they do well , looks like a lot of fun was had by all and that's the reason we wheel ,so I would say you accomplished that very well !!!!

She definately exceeded my expectations!

Made me rethink if I actually wanted to get rid of her or not, with a little more time and love she should be a decent wheeler

Its not for any stock rigs thats for sure (unless you dont care about trying to romp up the hill)

and yes Josh, I wished I still had my XJ but it was fun to see the looks my libby got for being out there

Lol he was trying to get up the hill, beer+slippery hill made it a fun time watching him run up and down, er well trying to run ;)

I almost bought bought a Kk just like that about a year ago. The thing was showroom and had only about 12k mine for the mid to upper TEENS! Seemed like a lot rig for the money. I didn't grab it up because I didn't know anything about them, the 3.7, or the transfer case and driveline. I must admit it drove far better than my current XJ. :) thanks for the pics!

What are your plans for Libby as far as lift and tires?? Are there any companies putting out lifts for that style yet, or any talking about having it in the plans??

Yes theres a 4" lift out there for the KK's...I currently have a 2" lift for her but I may keep the 2" spacer lift and add the 4" suspension lift....have her sit at 6" would be sick but I dont have the money at the moment for the suspension lift ($1k+)

I bought KM2's and some steelies but when I go to a bigger lift I plan to fit 31's under her

Other than that I plan on getting new tinted headlight, roof rack, sliders, bumper (the one I want is $1k+ so I will probably get a grill guard first then save up), new offroad lights

maybe a locker and ofcourse regear if I go to bigger tires.


hmm maybe I should do a build thread for her...a very, very, very slow build thread

I didnt know anything about them either, I rented one when my hubby and I went to cali and I like it then so when I decided to get a newer car (one cuz I had to get rid of my XJ and to build up my credit) I decided to go with a Jeep (since a newer camaro was way out of my price range lol), saw mine and bought her.

They drive great, but I still compare my XJ to my KK all the time (my XJ was quicker, she got off the line faster... the libby is slow and a typical suv)

Well, took her out again to try out the new tires


She did amazingly well, did a hill that took a couple tries to get her up the last time but only took one this time...we did the same "loop" as we did the last time and once again the new grand cherokee had to go around the easy way (only my libby and my in-laws wrangler made it up)

Very impressed by how well she did, now it has me thinking about building her up some more but thats all I need right now....another project

She really impressed me this last trip, so much that Ive been thinking about buying a locker for the rear lol

She's had pinstriping since the first wheeling trip....its just way worse now lol
