I have the gauge and the pod and it was suggested that it be on the output side so you can see how hot the tranny is getting not how cool the returning fluid is. HTH

I was just going to suggest outlet myself, did you upgrade the cooler?

Any pictures Blue? I'd really like to do this, especially if I go to 35" tires.

Just have the parts gathered up have not installed it yet. I have a dual pod and my second gauge is an engine oil temp and I want to put the sender in a bung in the oil pan so may install it all this summer when I feel like pulling the pan.

I was thinking about getting one of those dual pods as well. Tranny temp and oil temp I was thinking.

Exactly. I was thinking of putting the oil temp into the sender area for the oil pressure but that is a dead end and recieves minimal flow so I then thought the oil pan would work much better. Just gonna wait until this summer and remove the pan, weld in a bung for the sensor and do the tranny temp wiring at the same time.
:p

I have an Auxillary cooler up front and was going to use the hose going to that to put the "T" into for the tranny temp gauge. I want to weld a bung into the oilpan for the oil temp gauge's sender. Just got to select a place that won't get hit by the rotating assembly inside the pan.

Nothing done on either one yet. Just plans so far.

Still digging but so far I've found this...

Knowing the temperature of the oil in the pan is largely irrelevant.
The temperature that matters is the temperature at the outlet of the
oil filter and/or cooler ,i.e. the main oil gallery feed.

I have an aftermarket cooler I plan on installing. I plan on a B&M cooler gauge, seems like a very simple install. Here is a couple of install from other sources.

HAHAHA I beat you guys to this one . Ive had a Trans temp and Air/Fuel ratio gauge mounted on my "A" Pillar Pod. I also have a 40,000 GVW Hayden Trans cooler. I cut the lines to coming from the trans to the rad. Ran 3/8 rubber trans line to the cooler mounted in front of the rad. Installed my Trany temp sensor into a "T" with and Two 3/8 barb fittings on the Trany fluid return line So I would know what temp the fluid going into the trans is. My Air/Fuel ratio Gauge has just one input from the o2 sensor to the gauge. Heres a Pic after install.

Good I hate being first all the time. :smiley-scared002:

How about a picture of the cooler and where you spliced it in?
