I'm going to post everything I find that has credibility to it of course. I'm not sure why CA has to lead the way, but it does rank pretty high on crime compared to other states as a whole. And we have only a few cities that rank high nationally. Of course there's Oakland, Stockton, Sacramento, & L.A. Feel free and add to it.

Thankfully, I'm not a native Ca kid. I'm sure cali was great once upon a time ago, but I'm only 33. So I'm sure it was before my time. There are plenty of states following CA lead with gun control. NJ and NY I hear suck and so does Mass, CT, and RI.
If anyone else can tell me though. Do you have the 10 day "Cool down" period? Where you have to wait 10 tens after purchasing your firearm to pick it up. It's everything from shotgun to .22lr. It's insanely stupid!

In North Carolina you have to apply for a hand gun permit with the sheriffs dept. That takes a few weeks to go through then you can buy your gun. Most guns shops will run the paperwork for you. then when your approved you can pick up your gun.

There’s no wait on most Rifles and shotguns just walk in and walk out. It’s been many moons since I bought a gun. I’m not sure how it is now.

It’s not uncommon in the smaller towns to see an old timer walk down main street with a 6 shooter strapped to his hip. Of course that don’t fly in the city where all the liberal wackos seem to congregate

In Va. you walk in with 2 forms of ID for handguns shotguns and rifles, 3 forms of ID are needed for "assault type" rifles and shotguns. 10 min. background check then out the door.

This is true. I wonder if the national back ground check would require amending the constitution?
Funny little tid bit. George W Bush had the most amount attempts to amend the constitution in our countries history. With some 2,200 attempts. I read it in a book I have. But I'll try to find an online source as well.

Guns are great to have, but it's so hard to find ammo. I think the government is stockpiling all the ammo. They don't want us to buy it, and that is why the price is so crazy high. Everytime I go into a Walmart I check to see if they have 22lr and they're always out.

Like I've stated before. DHS had more ammo than you can imagine. Here are a few links. One of which many ppl don't find credible, but some times I do.
1) http://www.thegatewaypundit.com/2013/02/homeland-security-now-armed-with-enough-ammo-for-24-year-long-iraq-war/

2) http://www.infowars.com/dhs-purchases-21-6-million-more-rounds-of-ammunition/

Regardless. I think there's truth to it, no matter what the numbers are. And thus is why I don't under stand how any American based company could supply the gov vs the citizens. Is it the money? If so, that makes them just as much of a welfare recipient as my neighbor w 4 kids and no job.

I would like to add that as of this past Thursday. I got my 5 female to become a firearms owner. This latest one still has to take some courses like the previous. But I enjoy knowing I converted anti gun people into owning and actively shooting. I always encourage them to take some courses for everyone's safety but also for the new owner.

In my eyes. Not really. I do understand the need to adapt with change. But at what point do we or these politicians stick to core values? Seems like they (gov) would like to scrap everything & start a new. And I'm sure if they had the chance. We'd become a social democracy (think Norway). Which I swear is the way we are heading.

I think it has more to do with people creating the high demand. Everyone was scared of what President Obama would do especially after Sandy Hook. It does suck though that .22 has inflated as much as it did compared to other calibers.

I know people will reference to all the ammunition several government agencies have purchased but from what I've heard when the numbers are broken down it is actually reasonable when you think about how many rounds each agent will need in a year for duty and range time.

I don't know about socialists like Fedal Castro style. But we'd certainly be a social democracy like Norway. If we had fewer candy ass, lazy, no motivation, dependent people. I think we'd have much of our freedoms back. But both political parties are off their damn rockers. I can not distinguish a Democrat from a Republican.

With the war against self-defense currently being waged via the Democrat-led attack on "Stand Your Ground" laws, it's important to revisit Associate Justice Samuel Alito's words from McDonald v Chicago (2010): "Individual self-defense is 'the central component' of the 2nd Amendment right."
McDonald v Chicago was a case brought by Otis McDonald against gun bans that prevented him from having a firearm with which to defend his life and property.
Alito wrote the majority opinion for the court on that decision, and in it he stressed how the right to keep and bear arms and the right to self-defense are two sides of the same coin in the 2nd Amendment.
He even went so far as to say that the most preferred weapon with which to defend oneself in America is a handgun, thus "[the court] concluded, 'citizens must be permitted to use handguns for the core lawful purpose of self-defense.'"
Because of the parameters of the case, Alito's focus was on having a handgun in the home, but in December 2012 the 7th Circuit Court explained that the right to defense is applicable beyond the home and is actually "as important outside the home as inside."
Alito bolstered the decision in McDonald v Chicago by pointing to how "the 1689 English Bill of Rights explicitly protected a right to keep arms for self-defense." He looked at William Blackstone's "assessment" that King George III's attempt to disarm colonists in the 1760's and 1770's "provoked polemical reactions by Americans invoking their rights as Englishmen to keep and bear arms."
According to Alito, when the Bill of Rights were composed the federalists and anti-federalists alike "agreed that the right to keep and bear arms was fundamental to the newly formed government."
The 2nd Amendment protects the right to keep and bear arms. And "self defense is 'the central component'" of that right.

For those of you who feel guns are an important part of life and a personal freedom. If you live in a state that is or has restricted the use of guns, MOVE! Vote with your feet. I am grateful that I will be moving back to a gun friendly state (AZ) and will only move to other states who are gun friendly. I see no reason to work in a state and be forced to give up my money through taxes for views I dont agree with.

As for right now, since the democraps (though, both sides do suck!) are in control the best you can do is influence local elections. Look at Colorado, they kicked those people out and now have almost every county sheriff suing the state to remove the law. Local is the best way right now to maintain rights.

Read a book and study about rights and true American history. If you dont know your rights, how can you defend them?

4.3LXJ
12-06-2013, 07:42 PM
The problem comes when you seek help. If you show up at a clinic, they want you there for 3 days to observe you even if all you are doing is wanting a prescription refilled. It just so happens 3 days stay is the criteria in the law for confiscation, regardless of the reason you went there in the first place

I think that if that's the case, surely a small percentage of their LEO's throughout the state would need to have their guns taken. Unless the LEO's has some sort of exemption.

AZ is actually a freer state than Texas. I got about 20 acres in Wilcox that I bought off the Internet. I speculate to myself that Texas will sooner or later mirror Cali. Big cities always have a insane amount of democrats.

http://www.theblaze.com/stories/2013/03/28/here-are-the-10-freest-states-in-the-u-s-and-the-least/

A hard part for me is Cali geography is probably the best out of the 50 states we have. Of course judged off my own values. But it's not habitable for this amount of people & the amount of laws are bonkers. If you're the kinda person that works, goes home & watch TV. And don't do much outside of that. It's probably fine. But dare you have a fire place & burn wood on a spare the air day. You get a $500 fine. Same if u BBQ. If you want to open up a auto shop of some sort. You have to pay EPA dues. Oakland & SF won't give you a permit. But you can open a stupid pho-king coffee shop every 5 feet.
