I been eyeballing iron man's control arms for some time.

http://www.ironman4x4fab.com/Jeep_XJ_Control_Arms/XJ_FUCA.html

At first I was skeptical because of the low price but after reading a few reviews in other forums, I was convinced they are actually worth a try. I spoke with Adam and he had a set on it's way to me in record time. I got em quick and hassle-free.

Here's what he sent me:

I asked for arms that were adjustable from 14"-18" and he got it perfectly. Normally they are 15"-19" if I'm correct. Adam says he does custom lengths if needed, you just send him an email of what lengths you need and he'll make em.

The arms themselves are BEEF. They aren't 2" thick or anything, but they are strong. Welds are good, and everything is very tight. I like the fact that the threaded portion goes all the way to the end of the arm, which gives it a tight clunk-free feel even with the jam nut loose.

Male end is 1" solid
Female end is 1.25"

The bushings have grooves for grease to flow and lube the entire bushing, which is a plus. There's also a grease fitting as you can see. The arms come painted but need to be re-painted according to the instructions. They come pre-painted but to prevent corrosion and rust during storage and shipping. One of the reasons the arms are cheaper than most is cuz he does not powdercoat or paint and that cuts down on costs. I don't like powdercoating and I like the ability to paint my parts myself whichever color i please. A $4 can of good quality paint goes alot further than powdercoating. ;)

Overall I'm very pleased with this order and I already plan on ordering one or two more of his items. If you want a set of strong upper adjustable arms at a super low price, these are it.

Have they held up good? No issues? Did you paint them or leave them with the paint they come with?

I would say any of the aftermarket radius long arm brackets would work. These are the same as the other radius arms except they have much more adjustability. Send Adam an email and see what he says.

They look very strong. Is that bushing replaceable and what is the replacement cost and source?

I'm not sure but it appears to be a two piece bushing so I'm sure it's replaceable with the same or different bushing.

From what it says on the website, it appears the bushings are from BDS Suspensions.

I'm also curious about the longarm set up too.

It says (i think) that the flex joints are from bds but not sure about the bushings. BDS uses blue blushings but the ones on mine seem a little different than the bds bushings i see online. They could be the same, not sure.

No issues at all & have not painted them. I also
bought his HD Tie Rod & over the knuckle kit as well.
The tie rod is what I'm most proud of,the thing is a beast.

Was the tie rod flip kit included with the tie rod? if not, how much was it?

Here are some pictures of them installed. I took these pictures after removing my drop brackets.

Looks good Mudd. You said you removed the DB's, are you not reinstalling them? If not, why?

Yeah I removed em and they aren't going back on. I realized it wasn't working with 4" of lift and 31's. It pushed my axle too far forward and the brackets were hanging and gettin hung up on rocks and trees. It's hard to pick the right line when you got two diffs, two shock mounts, and two drop brackets to think about. Most of the trails we did were muddy ones but had rocks mixed in and I was landing on those brackets too often. Since it pushed my axle forward, my tie rod was jamming into the sway bar link and it killed the tie rod there, along with binding the rest of them and tearing up my boots. It made turning to the right very difficult when flexing.

Not the best picture but it shows the condition of a 1 year old boot.

I am now going to look into RC's new long arm setup that's supposed to be released sometime soon. If that doesn't interest me, then I'm upgrading to trek's. I'm not going to replace the steering with oems. It's currie time.

I was able to give the drop brackets a try. They improved the ride dramatically, but just didn't work out well at my height and tire size.

man i remember this nice fella that told you about those iron man arms lol ;)

i think he needs to look into building a cross member as well. If it could be under 600 it would be killer!!!!!!!

anyone invite him to be a XJtalk vendor yet?

:D

He's working on long arm brackets and possibly a crossmember. He told me he'd let me know when the first set is done so I can buy it with his long arms. :)

he was going to get with me on a set of the adjustable shackles on ebay forever ago but am assuming he forgot. I would definitely be interested in the long arms. I am also waiting for RC's to come out. Supposed to be a 500 dollar kit!!!

Yeah I saw the thread on NAXJA today. They finally showed pictures of it and it's absolutely SICK! I'm praying the skid plate and crossmember are included in the $500 price tag. If so, that's an unbeatable kit, seriously.

Send Andy an email and he'll get back to you. He said his business picked up and bee busy lately, and you can blame me partly for that for posting good shi$ about his stuff all over the forums LOL.

You could also just order from his website:
